NEW DELHI: The subsidiary of Reliance Industries, Reliance Brands, which is into the business of selling a raft of labels globally, has gone into a deal with Valentino (which is an Italian Fashion house). Per the partnership, the Valentino will be responsible for its new brand launches in India.
“Valentino and Reliance brands are continuously working out on the brand launch strategies and the partnership agreement” the sources said. The financial matter of the partnership is not disclosed yet.
Valentino, which is popular for its wedding gowns, rock stud heels, red carpet dresses among others was in talks with numerous retailers to introduce its new brand launches in India. Among the retailers in the conversations with Valentino, IDFS trading and DLF luxury were included.
Reliance brands retails many luxury brands in India comprising Bally, Ermenegildo Zegna and Brooks Brothers. Over the past 1 year, a mélange of moderate and luxury brands have debuted in the Country comprising HMH Moser & Cie, Kate Spade New York and Coach. India has seen a swift influx of emerging new international brand launches.
The president of Mafatlal Luxury, Sheetal Mafatlal, who was in the process of partnering with Valentino before Reliance commented “Vlaentino is a new and exciting brand launched in India which focuses on the developing age group of 22-40 who primarily have the interest and disposable income to match with the international fashion.
Reliance brands is a subset of Reliance Industries, Mumbai and has collaborated with other non-luxury and luxury international brands like Diesel, Steve Madden, Marks and Spencer and Thomas Pink.
A subsidiary new brand of a reputed goods conglomerate namely Louis Vuitton Moet Henessy, Berluti popular for the apparels (men), is also going to join the list of ‘new brands launched in India’ soon. The brand is also famous for its leather finishing of alligator skin, calfskin and kangaroo skin.
The emerging brand in India, Vlaentino is a subsidiary of Valentino Fashion Group which is headquartered in Milan, Italy. The unique fashion house is owned by – Mayhoola for Investments Spc, Qatar.
